• Buy sheets of plywood for the roof panels and have them cut at your local hardware store. 
• Cut the sheets into rectangles large enough to cover the top of your floor joists. 
• Nail or screw the panels onto your joists, from one end of the house to the other, with a nail gun or by hand if you’re working alone.
